Hertfordshire Community Foundation provides a range of grants to support the county's community and voluntary groups.

HCF Grants


Grants of up to £5,000 or £10,000

Application deadline £10,000 grants: 15 August 2025

Application deadline £5,000 grants: 30 June 2025

Grants of up to £5,000 and £10,000 available for projects addressing need and deprivation in Hertfordshire, with regular deadlines throughout the year.

The Frank Litchfield Trust


Grants of up to £5,000

Application deadline: Friday 18th July 2025

For groups within 25 miles of Royston, addressing need and disadvantage including rural isolation.

Household Support Fund for Groups


Grants of up to £10,000

Application deadline: Rolling with an approx. 2-month decision time

Funding for groups supporting adults and families in need to access food, fuel and water and wider essentials. Funding made available by HCC from the Government's Household Support Fund.

Access to Music

Grants of up to £1,000

Application deadline: Rolling


Charities, community groups, non-profits and schools can apply for grants to improve access to music for children and young people in Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Community Spaces


Grants of up to £2,000

Application deadline: rolling with an approx. 2-month decision time


Previously known as Warm/Cool Spaces.

Funding for community groups to open their doors wide to their community, made available by Hertfordshire County Council.

Community Transport Fund

Grants of up to £500

Application deadline: rolling


Grants available to groups to transport residents to their local community activities or community spaces. This includes lunch clubs, essential support and those who live in rural areas.

Green Herts - HCF Sustainability Fund


Grants of up to £1,000

Application deadline: rolling


The Green Herts Sustainability Fund helps local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations build a greener and more sustainable future. With a mix of hands-on training and grants, the fund supports organisations to improve their sustainability in the long and short term.
