Funding Local Causes

Vacancies

Hertfordshire Community Foundation aims to strengthen local communities by providing not only funding but support and advice to help build a sustainable and confident voluntary sector in Hertfordshire. We help hundreds of local charities and community causes across the county every year and we have ambitious plans to do even more. If you're driven, collaborative, and passionate about making an impact in your local community, we would love to hear from you. Join a team of hard-working people dedicated to making a genuine difference in their local community.
Trustee vacancies

Do you have a passion for Hertfordshire? We are looking for two trustees to join our Board of Trustees to help make Hertfordshire a better place, for everyone:

These vacancies have arisen as two of our current Trustees complete their full terms in September, and we are immensely grateful for their dedication and service.

The role
As a Trustee, you will play a key part in providing strategic direction, supporting good governance, and ensuring the long-term success of HCF. You will contribute to Board and Committee discussions, attend events, and help identify new relationships and supporters.

We are particularly interested in candidates with:
  • Finance/accounting experience

  • Governance expertise

  • Community voluntary sector knowledge

We welcome applications from people with a broad range of backgrounds, and our aim is for our Board to reflect the diversity of Hertfordshire. Previous trustee experience is not required – what matters most is your energy, ideas, and commitment to our mission.

Requirements:
  • Attend up to four Board meetings per year and an annual strategy planning day

  • Contribute advice and support through Committee meetings and on an ad hoc basis

  • Attend HCF events and represent HCF when required

  • Help identify and foster new donors and supporters

All reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed, and a full induction will be provided.

How to apply
To apply, please submit your CV and a short statement outlining your interest and relevant experience to paul.robin@hertscf.org.uk before 12 June 2026.
