HCC Community Transport Fund - to enable residents to access community activities

For groups supporting residents in rural areas.

Rolling deadline

Grants of up to £500 are available to groups who are able to transport residents to their local Community activities including Warm spaces and lunch clubs. Especially those who live in rural areas.

If you are applying for a Warm Space grant and need to cover transport costs you can include them in your Warm Space Application go to Warm Spaces page for more information.

If you are not applying for a Warm Space grant and just need to cover transport costs, apply below.

This funding has been made available by Hertfordshire County Council to enable isolated residents to be transported to community spaces, including Warm Spaces.

Applications are welcome from charities, community and voluntary groups and not for profit organisations. Parish Councils working alongside community groups are also welcome to apply.

Who can apply?


You can apply if you work or volunteer for a group that:
    • is based in Hertfordshire

    • is a not for profit voluntary or community group or faith group

    • has a Safeguarding policy that covers the activities you want us to fund plus a policy covering infectious diseases, eg COVID

    • has an up to date Risk Assessment covering activities associated with the transport

    • has Public Liability insurance



What can we fund ?


transport costs including: fuel, volunteer expenses (eg volunteer driver), running costs, cost of taxis where necessary

Access to transport


Please note, we ask in your application to tell us how residents can access your transport, whether it is directly, or through the Community Spaces you will be transporting them to.

High Sheriff Awards celebrate charitable projects across Hertfordshire
