Funding Local Causes

Food and empowerment

Borehamwood Foodbank takes a holistic approach to address local community challenges, offering a hand up not just a handout.
Escalating living costs and energy prices have squeezed many households who were already struggling desperately, still further.

The Foodbank received a Household Support Fund grant towards purchasing food vouchers amid declining food donations. A further grant from this fund also enabled energy voucher distribution. The fund was made possible thanks to Hertfordshire County Council as part of the Government's support for households. Additional support for the foodbank also included a grant from HCF to provide essential school uniforms to those who couldn't afford them, easing the burden on vulnerable families and an advised grant of £4,493 from Affinity Water towards fuel support vouchers.
