Applications for the 2024/25 High Sheriff Awards are now open. This prestigious annual event celebrates voluntary organisations across Hertfordshire that are making a positive impact in their communities.
This year, the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Annie Brewster JP, has chosen the theme "Sport for Good," to showcase how the power of sport and physical activity can address critical social issues such as mental wellbeing, education and community cohesion.
Charities, community groups, and not-for-profits that use sport to achieve outcomes like increased social inclusion, improved educational attainment, crime reduction and enhanced health and wellbeing are invited to apply. These awards are a chance to spotlight initiatives that make Hertfordshire a better place to live through sport and physical activity.
The High Sheriff is also seeking nominations for the National Crimebeat Awards, which honour crime prevention initiatives led by young people. Projects should focus on reducing crime or anti-social behaviour or supporting victims of crime, and must involve people aged 25 and under.
Nomination Deadline: Friday, 4th October 2024, at 5:00 PM
