High Sheriff Awards 2024 open for nominations

Recognising groups that empower people through literacy and rehabilitation

HCF is pleased to once again partner with The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire to deliver the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Awards. These awards are given out annually to recognise voluntary organisations that do such great work in the communities of Hertfordshire.
The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire 2023/24, Liz Green, is now inviting nominations for the 2024 Awards.

The Awards will focus on the High Sheriff’s theme for the year and will seek to celebrate and recognise Hertfordshire voluntary groups and charities that work with adults and young people to develop their reading and writing as well as those who are supporting vulnerable people who have lived prison experience or are on probation, or those recovering from addiction, domestic abuse or homelessness.

Nominated groups will be considered by the High Sheriff’s panel and Award winners will be announced at the High Sheriff Awards evening in March 2024 where they will receive a financial contribution in recognition of their outstanding work, funded through the High Sheriff’s Fund, a charitable fund managed by Hertfordshire Community Foundation.

In addition, the panel will also be seeking innovative and successful crime prevention projects carried out by young people to be put forward for a National Crimebeat Award.

Further details on the Award criteria can be found here. The nomination deadline is Tuesday, 3 October 2023 at 5pm.
