Grants from £5,000 are available to groups working in areas of deprivation in Hertfordshire that support adults and families in need by providing:
- Access to food: Grants are available to support food organisations in purchasing food and household essentials to be distributed to people in need of crisis support. Funding can also contribute to the running costs of food banks including utilities and other essentials.
- Access to affordable food: Funding can also be used to provide access to affordable food through community pantries and community kitchens. This can also include the provision of household budgeting advice and cooking lessons.
- Dedicated Advice: Funding can be used to provide dedicated cost of living advice - which is co-located with food hubs and other areas of provision - to communities in need.
- Hertfordshire based Citizens Advice services: Can apply but applications must be in partnership with a food organisation and for a specific outreach advice service.
- Groups working with people from minority or marginalised communities experiencing barriers to accessing mainstream food support and advice are particularly welcome to apply.
- Districts and Borough Councils: Can apply on behalf of partner organisations but please contact us first on grants@hertscf.org.uk to discuss your application.
Funding to purchase vouchers is NOT available through this grants programme.
