Funding Local Causes

Our grant application process for Groups

Applying for a grant is straightforward, but each grant programme has its own eligibility criteria, application process and timescales. Before applying, please read the guidance for the grant programme you are interested in.

Our grants process generally involves:

  • Checking that your organisation and project are eligible

  • Completing and submitting an application through our Fundseeker Portal

  • Assessment by our Grants Team, including due diligence and review against the programme criteria

  • A decision by the relevant Grants Committee or funding panel

  • If successful, accepting your grant offer and meeting any conditions before payment is made

  • Delivering your project and reporting back on the difference your funding has made

Please note that some funding programmes include additional stages, such as fund matching with individual donors or partners.
You can find a more detailed written document on the grant application process here.

Funding decisions are final and cannot be appealed. If you believe that due process was not followed, you may raise a complaint in accordance with our Complaints Policy.
