Grants of up to £5,000 available for voluntary and community groups supporting youth mental health

Application deadline 9th August 2019

Applications for up to £5,000 are invited from groups helping to support youth mental health. Applications from all districts will be considered, but we are particularly interested in hearing from groups supporting young people in Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans District.
We are looking for preventative projects, projects which will help to build mental health resilience and also projects which deliver counselling and other therapies supporting young people. Applications from Hemel Hempstead, Hatfield and St Albans district are particularly welcome, but all districts will be considered. Contact the grants team for an informal discussion.

Groups applying will need to demonstrate that they:

  • Are meeting an identified need in the county - we encourage groups to reference evidence where available. We encourage applicants to reference our own Hertfordshire Matters reports or other relevant research or data where appropriate.
  • Can demonstrate how the money requested will help them to make a positive difference (i.e. have clear objectives and outcomes).
  • Are well thought through and costed appropriately.
  • Are well connected to the communities they serve.
  • Will be able to spend the funding requested within 12 months of the grant being awarded.

    Spring Walk raises money for local charities
    Over 40 enthusiastic participants gathered in the picturesque Hertfordshire countryside in Buntingford on a sunny morning on 18 April to raise funds and awareness for a good cause. The spring walk was organised by Hertfordshire Community Foundation’s (HCF) Ambassador Henrietta Buxton and graciously hosted by HCF Trustee James Hopkins and his wife Sarah.
    High Sheriff Awards celebrate charitable projects across Hertfordshire
    Liz Green, the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, publicly recognised and rewarded ten Hertfordshire voluntary organisations at the 2024 High Sheriff Awards ceremony held on Tuesday, 26 March 2024.
