Funding Local Causes

Help residents in need during the coldest months of the year

Research shows that over 40 ,000 Hertfordshire households may have to choose between heating and eating, and nearly a third are financially stretched.

Each year Hertfordshire Community Foundation runs an appeal to raise funds to ensure that the most vulnerable people in our society are kept safe, warm and well.
How we help
Our Winter Appeal raises money to give out in grants to help local charities and community organisations to support those in most urgent need during the coldest winter months.

Grants have supported grassroot community organisations like Small Acts of Kindness provide warm clothing and essentials to older residents, The Toy Hub give families in hardship free, ready-to-wrap Christmas presents for their children, Herts Welcomes Refugees supply essential items to refuges and asylum seekers and Citizens Advice North Herts and Citizens Advice Dacorum support people facing fuel poverty.

The grants help local people like Jodie*
“I would just like to send on behalf of myself and my family the gratitude and overwhelming thanks it was much needed at just the right time. So grateful and truly appreciate this. Thank you so much for giving and caring.”
