Funding Local Causes

Spring walk raises much needed funds and awareness

HCF Ambassador Henrietta Buxton organised a picturesque spring walk for a great cause!
The walk took place on Thursday, 4 May 2023 and attracted over 50 participants who were left in awe of Hertfordshire’s scenic countryside.

The walk route spanned approximately 5 miles and included Benington farmland and bluebell woods, along with the historic Lordship garden. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Richard and Susanna Bott, who kindly opened up their home and gardens for the event.

Participants were able to learn more about Hertfordshire Community Foundation and the need for local giving while enjoying coffee and biscuits. The walk concluded with a light lunch overlooking the perfectly manicured gardens.

HCF is grateful to everyone involved, together they helped raise over £800 in donations, which will be used to aid vulnerable residents in the community via the HCF Hertfordshire Children’s Fund. It’s wonderful to see the community come together and assist those in need.

Overall, the day was a great success as it proved an example of how much we can achieve when we band together for a good cause. Should you be interested in hosting or attending such an event in the future please send an email to marketing@hertscf.org.uk
