On Tuesday, 26 September, 2023, the Training and Development team at Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF) hosted its annual training-focused event, "Your Workforce: Your Future 2023".
The purpose of this event was to showcase the current training opportunities available to charities and voluntary groups in Hertfordshire, particularly those operating in the field of adult social care. Additionally, the event aimed to spark discussions and provide insights into training trends and the benefits they offer to organisations.
The event drew in over 40 delegates who were keen on learning about the offerings. It began with a speaker from Hertfordshire County Council. Following this, attendees delved into a comprehensive exploration of the diverse training and development opportunities provided by HCF’s Training and Development team. These tailored courses are specifically designed to bolster the effectiveness and capabilities of voluntary and charitable organisations within Hertfordshire.
The offerings encompass a range of resources, including advice and guidance, grants to cover
training costs,
versatile online and in-person courses,
readily accessible videos, and a thorough
training and consultancy program designed specifically for trustees. A special focus was given to a course spotlight on Marketing and fundraising, aimed at enhancing skills and knowledge. Subsequently, an interactive workshop centered on improving office volunteers' productivity provided valuable insights. The event also provided a platform for networking during a lunch session.
A noteworthy aspect of the event was the workshop dedicated to harnessing the potential of Chat GPT to boost day-to-day efficiency, emphasising the relevance of emerging technologies in streamlining operations.
The event was made possible through funding from Hertfordshire County Council Adult Care Services, underlining their commitment to fostering development and progress within the local voluntary sector. "Your Workforce: Your Future 2023" served as a pivotal gathering that empowered local voluntary and charitable organisations to forge ahead by leveraging valuable training opportunities and enhancing their operational capabilities.
