Funding Local Causes

Bake sale raises funds to help local children

At the end of 2022 two members from our grant’s team attended a fundraising event at the offices of Realm Partners, having very kindly been invited by Louise Fawthrop.

Louise organised Realm Partner’s first charity event, a bake sale, to raise much-needed funds for HCF’s Hertfordshire Children’s Fund which provides practical support to disadvantaged children and their families in Hertfordshire by providing grants of up to £300 for household essentials such as washing machines, cookers and beds to ensure they could keep their children healthy, safe and clean.

Louise said “We knew we wanted to give locally and we heard of HCF through Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce as we are members. The Hertfordshire Children’s fund resonates will us all and we want to be able to help multiple families if we can.”

The bake sale was a great success and well supported by hungry and giving folk rushing in to purchase some of the many treats on offer, which included HCF branded cupcakes.

HCF is very grateful to Realm Partners who raised £319 from the bake sale itself and thanks to two match funders their total donation reached £957! The funds have been used to support families struggling in the Welwyn area, where Realm Partners is located, with the purchase of washing machines and freezers. After the event, Louise said “It’s so humbling that in these really difficult times so many people donated so generously.”
