£1,000 raised to help children of families on low incomes
The team at Hertfordshire County Council Children’s Services have raised £1,000 for the Hertfordshire Children’s Fund managed by Hertfordshire Community Foundation.
The fund provides small grants to help families struggling on a low income to purchase basic essentials such as beds or white goods and some specialist equipment for children with disabilities.
The Children’s Services team decided to raise money for the fund as they have seen first-hand how the fund supports those families in need when statutory funding isn’t sufficient.
Caroline Langdell, Fund Manager for Hertfordshire Community Foundation, said; “Our ability to help Hertfordshire families in need is directly dependent on the donations we receive for the Children’s Fund. We are so grateful for the efforts from HCC’s Children’s Services team and we would love to encourage others who may like to fundraise on behalf of the Children’s Fund to contact us for more information on how we can support your efforts”.
