Funding Local Causes

Crowdfund Hertfordshire

An alternative way to raise funds for your community project

HCF is delighted to partner with Hertfordshire County Council to support the new Hertfordshire Crowdfund platform.
We want to inspire Hertfordshire based groups and charities to grow local projects and raise funds that benefit the community via Crowdfund Hertfordshire. Crowdfunding provides an online platform for voluntary sector organisations to extend their reach, raise awareness and find new donors. In addition to raising funds from the wider community, organisations can also apply for additional funding from local and national funds.

Here in Hertfordshire there are several local funders looking to support innovative not-for-profit projects that aim to make communities stronger, more connected, and more inclusive as well as projects that aim to make Hertfordshire carbon neutral and tackle climate changeThe site provides access to a range of local funds including:

The Sustainable Hertfordshire Fund
Match funding grants of up to £5,000 are available to support projects and activities that are helping Hertfordshire become carbon neutral and tackle climate change. The fund aims to inspire and back projects that support Hertfordshire County Council's climate emergency response by assisting with one or more of their ambitions. Click here to find out more or to apply.

Currently closed for applications: Hertfordshire County Council's Community Innovation Fund.
This fund provides support of up to £5,000 per project to support groups working with adults to reduce social isolation, loneliness, improve health and wellbeing, create volunteering opportunities, support vulnerable adults and reduce or delay demand for HCC's services in the community. This fund is currently closed for applications.

I have learnt a whole new set of communication skills to encourage community giving. I found the crowdfunding process easy to understand and navigate with the online tool allowing me to create a simple 'shop window’ to showcase and explain our project to the general public .It greatly increased our project’s visibility within our community and allowed us to reach out to other communities so they can connect what we are doing and how it might benefit their communities also.
