Maximising success

Playskill runs parent and child groups for pre-school children with special physical needs. In 2018 it was one of nine charities that took part in HCF’s Building Effectiveness bespoke development programme.
This fully funded programme combines mentoring, leadership workshops and training. It is designed to increase the capacity and sustainability of the local voluntary sector by making charitable organisations more strategic and sustainable.

Andrea Clarke, Director for Playskill said; “Participating in the Building Effectiveness programme was invaluable, I learnt so much and it inspired me as a leader. The programme brings together bright minds from different areas of the charity world with gifted people with real business acumen. Building Effectiveness enabled us to think strategically and devise a comprehensive five year strategic plan. Thanks to the Building Effectiveness programme more local charities can face the future with confidence.”

To date 28 charities have been through the programme and HCF remains committed to helping develop a sustainable and thriving local voluntary sector to the benefit of all.
