This workshop has been developed as part of the HCF Better Boards Springboard webinar series: A collection of training designed to support Hertfordshire trustees and improve board effectiveness.

This course is open to trustees, chairs, CEO's and Safeguarding leads from Hertfordshire VCS organisations.

Course Content:

Safeguarding is a key governance priority for all charities. This course will help you stay up to date with new guidance, regulation and best practice in accordance to the Charity Governance Code. It will help your board understand the topic and develop procedures that comply with legal and ethical requirements.

Helping Trustees to see their role in relation to:
  • Making safeguarding a priority

  • Policies and procedures

  • Supporting your staff and volunteers

  • Handling and reporting concerns

  • Your culture and values



About the trainers:

Sonia Clarke is a PTLLS-trained experienced tutor, accredited by HCC to deliver Level 1 and Designated Person Safeguarding Adults at Risk courses. She has worked with the Voluntary sector for over 10 year as a manager and advisor.
